After a few years in occupational therapy, Louise Demers turns to research and obtains her PhD in biomedical sciences (rehabilitation) at the Université de Montréal (1999). She then completes a postdoctoral training in epidemiology at McGill University (1999-2001).She is actually Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation, Université de Montréal and senior “chercheur-boursier” from the FRSQ.
Research interests
My research activities in geriatric rehabilitation have three prinicipal foci: i) mobility-related assistive technology; ii) measurement and evaluation (tool development, psychometry, and cultural adaptation), and iii) social participation of community-dwelling older adults with and without physical disabilities.
