Louise Lévesque, M. Sc. (Nursing, Mc Gill University), completed a diploma in Social Administration and Community Work (York University, England). She is a professor emeritus, Faculté des sciences infirmières, Université de Montréal. She has been the first holder of the Chair in Nursing Care for Seniors and their Families, now Desjardins Research Chair. She is also a consultant for the World Health Organization at the Faculté des sciences infirmières, Université Saint-Joseph, Bayrouth, Libanon.
Research interests
Louise Lévesque has been involved in research on aging for the past ten years. Her major interests include the development and the evaluation of health promoting interventions for family caregivers of a relative suffering from dementia, living at home or in long term care settings. Other interests concern unmet needs for help and community-based services for the elderly aged 75 years and over.
