Stéphane Protat, Ph.D., MPs
| Psychologist and neuropsychologist of aging (University of Montpellier, France), I've completed a doctorate in gerontology at the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada). I'm interested in non-pharmacological interventions for older people who suffer from cognitive impairments, especially Alzheimer's disease. My PhD research rested on the development of a new kind of intervention for Alzheimer's disease patients and based on virtual reality. My post-doctoral research focuses on evaluating the effects of the multisensory stimulation approach on the behavioral and psychological symptoms of people with advanced cognitive impairments. This project is supported by a post-doctoral fellowship from CIHR and the Hôpital Ste-Anne Anciens Combattants et de la Fondation de l'hôpital Ste-anne. |
